“We had to choose between four different locations and logistics companies when we were setting up in the Nordic region. We are convinced that we have chosen both the right location and the right partner. The logistics solution we are building together with Schenker Logistics in Nässjö is extremely competitive,” says Pär Landin, Supply Chain Manager at Optimera Svenska AB.

The assignment at present requires warehouse space of around 2,000 square metres. In due course the business is expected to require five times as much space: 10,000 square metres. Initially the warehouse in Nässjö will be supplying Optimera’s shops in Sweden and Norway, and in due course in Denmark and the Baltic region.

Schenker Logistics will start by employing 15 people to manage the assignment for Optimera. “But as the business grows and more warehouse space is taken into use, of course we’ll be employing more,” says Mats Olsson, MD of Schenker Logistics.

Nässjö Näringsliv AB has also been involved in the process of helping Schenker establish Optimera in the Nordic region. “The fact that they chose Nässjö shows clearly that we have the breadth and range of services required from global companies today. In 2008 even more logistical initiatives will be in place in new premises in Nässjö,” says Claes Johansson, MD of Nässjö Näringsliv AB.
